Get Away Give Away (GAGA)
In 1985 a group of folks from EFC made a Spring Break missions trip to Mexicali, Mexico. From that trip a new ministry was born. God has opened a remarkable range of connections in the Mexicali valley and in the city of San Luis, a border town due south of Yuma, AZ. We have been involved in helping small churches get into a first building, repairing aging buildings, building houses for those living in marginal structures and doing Bible Schools with children. Our trips are inter-generational. Traveling, working and ministering together has helped different age groups within the church to build relationships not easily accomplished here at home.
GAGA participants paid for about 70% of the 2009 project costs through a trip fee. The balance was raised as people come alongside with donations.
Our 2009 GAGA trip was March 19 through 28. Planning meetings for the 2010 trip will begin in the fall.
